Designing a cliff residence is never easy. The volumes are installed on flat bedrock, with a ruffle concrete pillar as a resistance structure and a mass of concrete to serve as a counterweight. We thus we created a cantilever building environment, buried in the forest with direct views from every bungalow. The interior plan is partitioned longways into the bungalow rooms and ends up to the bigger bungalow space, that extends outwards to wide forest openings, containing indoor and outdoor living spaces. The rooms are 5-dublex apartments, each one with private entrance and private living spaces for their users. With regards to materiality our design team has taken into consideration two main pillars: weather conditions and forest environment.

A. Alucobond panels
B. Custom design rusted panels (on façade)
C. In-situ concrete / timber features
One-way roofs have been placed in order to protect the building from raining and snowing but also to maximize the views of the spaces into the forest. Volumes have been strategically placed to be parallel with the entrance street, so that the users of the house can have a direct access to the parking and enjoy volumetrically the spectacular views.
